Hello, I'm new on the forums :) Recently I scanned my PC with Spybot and found the win32.downloader.gen malware. I clicked to fix it, and spybot showed that the virus was successfully deleted. I had to lof off my pc since we were going away for vacation for a couple of days. On my phone I got interested so I found some people posts about win32.downloader.gen, and most say that either Spybot fails to remove them, or removes it but then the virus comes back after a second scan. I just finished scanning, and it said it didn't find any malware. So, is it possible for Spybot to remove win32.downloader.gen? Cause now I'm worried that perhaps the bits of the virus are still left on my computer and I want to make sure it's completely gone. I read that you can only post malware logs in the other forum, but since this time I just wanna make sure the malware is really gone, I'm going to post the log I got from Spybot:

OK thank you :) It's good to hear my PC isn't in any danger. Oh and by the way, just for the heck of it, how come other people's Spybot programs failed to remove win32.downloader.gen? Did I simply remove it quick enough before it spread around my computer or something different hapened? You don't have to answer, I'm just curious =P

From the sticky topic: "Before starting a malware removal topic please run Spybot-S&D as Administrator if you haven't already and see if that resolves the problem. It often does."

But, there are variables in computers even if the issue sounds similar, plus some users may have more than one infection which comes to light during analysis. :)

Best regards.
