Received 'Win32.UrFace.bho' warning message as Spybot search result, flagged as 'very critical', but Spybot can't seem to be in position to remove this malware (at least the same scan result comes back after using the 'fix' box). Googeling and searching on this forum doesn't bring any result, i.e., 'Win32.UrFace.bho' doesn't figure in any search results and doesn't have to have a Malware removal Guide.

Anybody any idea how to fix this and get rid of this Malware?

Hello Woutz, :welcome:

Did you elevate Administrator permissions so Spybot could attempt to clean?

Please list:

Version of Spybot

The operating system
Other security programs installed
Any issues with the computer's performance

Best regards.

Thanks a lot for swift feedback.

After a couple of additional full system re-scans, the 'amin. elevation' invite popped up (didn't get this before), and after some two more complete system rescans and 'fix all' requests the issue seems to be solved now, i.e., scan doesn't report any 'Win32.UrFace.bho' threats anymore.

Thanks a lot, again, for feedback!

Hi Tashi / Woutz,

I am experiencing something similar to Woutz - having scanned and 'fixed' multiple times - sometimes one directly after completion to determine if there an issue on Boot, and irrespective of how many times scanned, cleaned, re-booted, rootkit check, checked offline, etc etc, these two items keep appearing in scan results as lodged in my registry and unfortunately Spybot (or anything else for that matter) seem unable to dislodge.

Can anyone please provide some advice to the newbie?

Thx
