First of all, I have ZoneAlarm Security Suite,Malwarebytes Anti - malware, Something called Advanced Registry Care Pro, ccleaner and Spybot Search & Destroy 2.2, all of which turn up negative. Despite this, yesterday it seems I contracted a virus, specifically, the EDIT: www. strtsrv.com redirect virus. I Googled it and found several sites claiming to help me get rid of it, but the program it suggests to kill it doesn't work on Windows 8. It won't load. Can Spybot help? This one is driving me crazy.

Hello breodis, :greeting:

Search engines can bring up sites you might want to think twice about visiting. :) WOT (Web Of Trust) is worth considering, their community has rated countless websites and while not infallible it is a useful barometer to assist in avoiding sites that host malware, on-line scams and spam.

Something called Advanced Registry Care Pro,

FYI: Registry Cleaners, not recommended (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=30038)

Which version of Spybot 2.2 do you have? http://www.safer-networking.org/private/ ZoneAlarm Security Suite has an anti-virus engine. :)

Best regards.
