I had such high hopes and now I'm back down in the dumps..... Have been using the free Spybot and so frustrated that this morning I went ahead and bought the antivirus but still no better. I have Kaspersky and Spybot but for the last several weeks have just been getting tons of ads (seems like they are all over the screen and it doesn;t matter whether I click on anything or not -- they just appear. Also now I keep getting messages that the Internet is no longer connected; that IE is not responding; or the screen just freezes. Sometimes, it unfreezes and / or if I click a second time it will "reconnect" I've run full scans with Kaspersky and with SpyBot and now with the new piece of SpyBot but nothing seems to help. The worst of this seemed to happen when I tried to download a copy of KODAK EasyShare software for my Christmas present digital frame. I was mislead into a site that wasn't the "official" KODAK site and I selected Download. Then a bunch of "added features" started loading. When I tried to uninstall those "extras" the problems seemed to multiply. When I select a link more times than not I get a solid black square in the URL window and it says strtsrv.com instead of whatever the link actually should be and then nothing happens. Anyone brilliant out there with any ideas or do I just need to buck up and take my computer into a shop and pay whatever it takes?
thanks

I don't know if this is the right place to paste my log, but here goes. Since I ran this log I was able to go into "internet options" and remove the line under search engines that said "conduit" however, the next day (after shut down and new log in) it was back, so removed it again today but doubt that it will stay removed......
