What do I do now?? (I'm a complete technical idiot - I figured out how to get this far by copying other threads)

Welcome to the forum. You have quite the mess here, I am not sure where to start? Let's start like this, you have a badly infected computer including the Vundo trojan and this stuff will attract more. Unless you are troubleshooting you need to stay offline until you are clean.

You are showing two instances of HJT.exe:
C:\DOCUME~1\User\LOCALS~1\Temp\Rar$EX07.578\HijackThis.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\User\LOCALS~1\Temp\Rar$EX07.328\HijackThis.exe

I want you to delete them both, the temp folder it is not safe. Now open C:\ and create a new Folder called HJT. Then SAVE HJT.exe from here: http://www.merijn.org/files/HijackThis.exe into that folder.
It will look like this C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe. If you need more help, use these links:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html
Do this before you proceed.

C:\Program Files\Winpooch\Winpooch.exe <<< did you install this or was it installed with the rest of this junk?

Follow these directions carefully and exactly.

Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Also post any information I requested, this is a start.

Thanks

Thanks for the help.

the hjt files you are seeing are in the WINRAR directory, which is my unzip utility. The unzipped HJT file is saved to my desktop.

I downloaded winpooch, because my system was sending out spam.

Running Vundo in a second, will post the logs when its done.

I am shutting down for the night at this point. Understand that you have a badly infected computer. I would stay offline unless you are troubleshooting the problems if I were you. I have posted instructions, if you wish me to continue with this cleanup, please see that you follow them.

Thanks

psk,

thanks.

Followed your instructions. VF couldn't remove vtuts.dll the first time through but worked without a problem the second time

Thanks for returning your information. My first questions, a lot of nasties are missing from the 015 "Trusted Zone" items, did you remove those or were they removed along with Vundo? There are left five items that are "Trusted IP range". Did you set those items, if not remove them with HJT. I will schedule, if you know they are not bad, pass over them.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) How to use the Delete on Reboot tool
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial42.html#delreb
Start Hijackthis
Click on the Config button
Click on the Misc Tools button
Click on the button labeled Delete a file on reboot...
A new window will open asking you to select the file that you would like to delete on reboot. Navigate to the file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\jjefhctd.dll and click on it once, and then click on the Open button.
You will now be asked if you would like to reboot your computer to delete the file. Click on the Yes button if you would like to reboot now.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A1E37776-365E-4889-86C0-8B48D65FC087} - C:\DOCUME~1\User\LOCALS~1\Temp\skuymwka.dll
O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {B313D637-F405-4052-AC37-E2119AB3C8F8} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\vtuts.dll (file missing)
O3 - Toolbar: &VSToolBar - {821F87FF-8245-4972-9E28-732E92EC2F51} - C:\Program Files\VSToolbar\VSToolBar.dll
(next two are Alexa related resource wasters, if you use Alexa you may leave them)
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm G
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
(remove the next five items unless you know they are safe)
O15 - Trusted IP range: http://202.67.220.225
O15 - Trusted IP range: http://59.148.220.121
O15 - Trusted IP range: http://62.4.84.53
O15 - Trusted IP range: http://82.98.235.58
O15 - Trusted IP range: http://85.12.25.90
O20 - Winlogon Notify: jjefhctd - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\jjefhctd

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\jjefhctd <<< delete that file (should be gone)

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log, let me know how the computer is running now.

Thanks
