Hi All.
I have a freshly installed 8.1 system. Actually it's a fresh 8.0 system immediately upgraded to 8.1 same day. So based on a couple of tools I see that I'm starting with about 250000 actual files on my disk. However when running Spybot 2.0 whitelist for the first time, it indicates i have approx 657000 files. And when it runs i see in the white list files listed such as C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Google\Chrome\..... As thats 4 iterations of the same directory, perhaps there is some bug in my symlinks that I will need to investigate. But it does show that Spybot is traversing symlinks as if they were normal directories. So i have 2 questions? should Spybot be following these Symlinks at all? And if so why? that seems unnecessary when it's scanning the whole drive, not looking for older legacy paths.
