I'm getting the following error message:

"This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

I've reinstalled a number of times and I continue to get the same message. This is both with Ver 1.6 and 2.3. I really need to use 2.3 because it fixed a bug that didn't with 1.6.

I've been a registered user for quite some time and have made several donations.

Thanks. :)
The Microsoft article that used to be posted for people who had this problem is no longer available,I don't believe. But I found a post with the directions in quotes here:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?668-Getting-An-quot-Framedyn-dll-quot-Error-What-Is-This&p=42322&viewfull=1#post42322
I'll add this post, too, for further instructions:

So,if you look and framedyn.dll is present where it is supposed to be and from all appearances,is undamaged, try fixing the path statement.Let me know if you run into any problems.

I've looked thoroughly and I don't have a cpoy of framedyn.dll on my system. Did it come with a copy of spybot? This was working before. Any help you can offer will be appreciated. I can't follow your instructions because I don't have the file.

Thanks

You're welcome. :)
No,framedyn.dll is a file that is normally on your computer,it didn't come with Spybot.
I can't remember if the file is hidden or not, ordinarily.I believe the dllcache folder may be hidden by default, though. To doublecheck, please follow this to show hidden files and folders:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-see-hidden-files-in-windows/#winxp

Please go to Start, then Run,then copy and paste this beside where it says Open, then click OK:
%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\Wbem
If Framedyn.dll isn't there, then please open Run once again, and copy and paste in this line:
%systemroot%\system32\dllcache
If Framedyn.dll is there,then rightclick Framedyn.dll,select Copy.
Go to Start,My Computer, open your Main drive(this usually is C:\),open System32,then the wbem folder. On the Edit window, select Paste, that should put Framedyn.dll back where it belongs.

If,after making hidden files and folders viewable, and you can now see Framedyn.dll in the Wbem folder, that is a change of plans,so please stop there and post back, you'll need to fix the path instead.
