Hello.
My Spybot refuses to update. Any chance I could have some help?

It says, 'failed to install Spybot2'. That's all I can see of it

Is that through Spybot 1.6 after you download updates through the program?

No, I have AV 2.2 Professional.
It also states that it is updating when it isn't

Try a manual update,and see if that works.If you're on Vista or higher,rightclick the Spybot icon and select Run as Administrator.Checkmark Advanced User Mode,then click Update.Once it's done running through the test,click the Update button.Please let me know how that goes.

Tried what you instructed, and no, it says the same... 02:16.985 Failed to install Spybot 2.

It's the antivirus update that seems to be the problem

Hi.

I'm not quite sure that answer is acceptable. Spybot has been paid for my computers protection which isn't happening if I can't update antivirus.

From the looks of things,bdcore.dll is being updated to a newer version now.You can see that in one person's logfile here:

Try doing the update manually again,then click show Update log.Scroll down to the bottom of the Update logfile,and if you see something similar to this:

SDUpdSvc.exe [2014-05-19 07:51:19] [+] bdcore.dll (version 11.0.1.6) needs to be updated (to version 11.0.1.12).
SDUpdSvc.exe [2014-05-19 07:51:19] [.] Downloading updates...

SDUpdSvc.exe [2014-05-19 07:51:19] [+] Downloaded archive "bdcore.dll-11.0.1.12.lzs" from http://imp.betanews.com/updates/spybot2/.
SDUpdSvc.exe [2014-05-19 07:51:20] [+] Extracted "bdcore.dll-11.0.1.12.lzs"!
SDUpdSvc.exe [2014-05-19 07:51:20] [-] Error copying "bdcore.dll"!
SDUpdSvc.exe [2014-05-19 07:51:20] [+] Scheduled "bdcore.dll" for replacement on reboot.
SDUpdSvc.exe [2014-05-19 07:51:20] [+] All files have been processed.
then try rebooting your computer,and see if the update problem is fixed.
