Backup of fixed items

XP Home SP2 with all updates / Spybot 1.4 with latest updates.
I have Spybot set to run an automatic scan once a week. Also, all settings are checked to backup anything that is fixed (Settings/Settings/Create backups - 3 selected). I received a notice this morning that Spybot had fixed some items (WebTrends 2, HitBox 1). When I went to Recovery there are no backups listed. I went to Info & License/Statistics and the items fixed were shown there. However, I am wondering why no backup was created of these items that were fixed. I would appreciate any help so the backup will be created.

I believe "HitBox" is a tracking cookie. I am not familiar with "WebTrends". If the detection was actually for "WebTrends live" then I believe that is also a tracking cookie.

There are no Recovery files created during the deletion of tracking cookies.

To check to see if the objects deleted were tracking cookies, look at the Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm.log produced when those detections were fixed.

By default there are two Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log files produced during a scan. The second Checks.yymmdd-hhmm.log file has the details of what the scan found. A Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm.log file is produced if you fix or attempt to fix something. There are two methods to view these logs.

• Method 1:
  • Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Tools > View Reports > View Pervious reports. Look for the Checks.yymmdd-hhmm or Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm file that contains the desired information. Double click on it to open it.
• Method 2
  • The Checks.yymmdd-hhmm and Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm files are stored in the following folders:
    • Windows 95 or 98:
      C:\Windows\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
    • Windows ME:
      C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
    • Windows NT, 2000 or XP:
      C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
  • Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the correct Checks.yymmdd-hhmm or Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm file. Double click on it and it should open with Notepad.

Thank you. You are correct, it should have been WebTrends live. I went back to edit the post, but was past the allowed time. I did check the log files and they are tracking cookies. I appreciate the quick answer.
