Are you installing from an administrator account?

Also, are you familiar with editing the registry at all? :)

Okay,thanks. :)
I noticed french in your screenshot,so if this is hard to follow,or you're unsure on anything, please let me know first.

How about you make two registry backups, just to be on the safer side of things.
Go to Start, type regedit, and doubleclick it.Say yes if prompted by UAC.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHNE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Spybot - Search and Destroy
Please refer to this link on how to backup a registry key:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/backup-registry-keys-windows-7.htm
Please backup the Spybot - Search and Destroy key.
Now go back and also back up the Eventlog key the same way.

Next,go back to Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHNE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Spybot - Search and Destroy, rightclick Spybot - Search and Destroy and select Permissions.See if the username that you are installing with has full control.
Now,go back to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHNE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\,rightclick Eventlog and select Permissions.See if the username that you are installing with has full control. Please post back what you find for permissions in both keys, but do nothing yet. :)

Also, you are installing from an administrator account?

thanks for the tip which I am going to follow.
please note that I have the same problem on my 2 Pcs (laptop Toshiba and dell) with W7 64bit pro...
I have on both admins rights, I install what I want without problems except SBSD...

Ok,good. What we're doing above is just checking registry permissions, and there will be more to do after that. :)

I"m got an email in to the spybot help desk but no one replied yet. windows 8.1 wont let me download the version of spybot I bought, or any version of malware for that matter. I've got a virus that says system error if I remember correctly.

please note I responded to this thread hoping someone would help me as I don't know how to start a new thread here, just joined. plus my problem seems similar in that 8.1 won't let me install any malware, including the home edition of spybot that I bought a few mins ago. James ps I did send email to helpdesk

If you have an email into the Spybot helpdesk, you ought to wait for their reply.Reason being I might answer you here, and they might reply and have you do something entirely different than I do,and then it gets very confusing for everybody. :)
