About 3 days ago Kaspersky Pure 3.0 started giving me a warning message several times a day regarding Spybot 2.4. Is this a Kaspersky problem or a Spybot problem? How do I fix it?
I wasn’t able to capture images of the various popup boxes, so I have provided the preverbal thousand words instead of the images.
Spybot 2.4 and Kaspersky 3.0 got along for several weeks before this problem occurred.
Warning Message From Kaspersky Pure 3.0 Internet Traffic Monitor
“Cannot guarantee the security of the encrypted connection between Spybot-S&D Scanner Service and 4.59.181.141 because it is impossible to check the website authentication certificate.
View the website certificate
(activation-v2.Kaspersky.com)
Do you trust the specified website?
Yes, accept the untrusted certificate
Connection will be allowed
Deny certificate (recommended)
Terminate connection with untrusted certificate”
When I clicked on “View the website certificate”
A popup box with General, Details, and Certification Path tabs appeared. The General Tab included the message “This certificate cannot be verified up to a trusted certification authority”. The Details tab had many field and field values listed with just the Key Usage field highlighted with an exclamation mark inside a yellow triangle. The value listed for this filed was “Digital Signature, Key Encipherment (a0)”. The Certification Path Tab Had an red circle with a white X inside on the highest level (folder?) labeled “Kaspersky Lab Public Services Root Certification Authority”. The Certificate status was “This CA Root certificate is not trusted because it is not in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.”
