About 3 days ago Kaspersky Pure 3.0 started giving me a warning message several times a day regarding Spybot 2.4. Is this a Kaspersky problem or a Spybot problem? How do I fix it?
I wasn’t able to capture images of the various popup boxes, so I have provided the preverbal thousand words instead of the images.

Spybot 2.4 and Kaspersky 3.0 got along for several weeks before this problem occurred.

Warning Message From Kaspersky Pure 3.0 Internet Traffic Monitor
“Cannot guarantee the security of the encrypted connection between Spybot-S&D Scanner Service and 4.59.181.141 because it is impossible to check the website authentication certificate.

View the website certificate
(activation-v2.Kaspersky.com)

Do you trust the specified website?

Yes, accept the untrusted certificate
Connection will be allowed

Deny certificate (recommended)
Terminate connection with untrusted certificate”

When I clicked on “View the website certificate”
A popup box with General, Details, and Certification Path tabs appeared. The General Tab included the message “This certificate cannot be verified up to a trusted certification authority”. The Details tab had many field and field values listed with just the Key Usage field highlighted with an exclamation mark inside a yellow triangle. The value listed for this filed was “Digital Signature, Key Encipherment (a0)”. The Certification Path Tab Had an red circle with a white X inside on the highest level (folder?) labeled “Kaspersky Lab Public Services Root Certification Authority”. The Certificate status was “This CA Root certificate is not trusted because it is not in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.”

Hi,lapper4. :)
I don't know Kaspersky Pure very well,so you should contact Kaspersky to ask them about that.

That sounds like this:
http://support.kaspersky.com/9927
It says it's enabled by default:
http://support.kaspersky.com/9927#block1
This is how to configure the Settings, you could check them with yours, but it might be the default configuration on yours,if you hadn't changed anything:
http://support.kaspersky.com/9927#block2

A search of Kaspersky forums showed these posts, which seem similar, though none of the posts are directly related to Spybot:
https://www.google.ca/search?q=because+it+is+impossible+to+check+the+website+authentication+certificate.&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&channel=rcs&gfe_rd=cr&ei=qpgTVOCdBIiN8Qe_74HoCA#rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&q=because+it+is+impossible+to+check+the+website+authentication+certificate+site:forum.kaspersky.com

This is the Kaspersky Pure section of their forum, you could ask about it there:
http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showforum=157

Or,if you prefer, you could contact their support:

(You need to be logged in to My Kaspersky to see the above page)

I had already checked on the Kaspersky forums and while there were many folks with certificate problems, none of them matched my particular problem. After I started a new thread on this forum, I learned I could not update the Kaspersky database either. Following that lead confirmed that this was a just Kaspersky problem not a Spybot proxy server/Kaspersky problem. The initial error messages made me wonder if my Kaspersky activation code had been blacklisted somehow. I tried to install (reinstall?) the Kaspersky website certificate (which was an option on the internet traffic monitor error message popup box) but the installation always failed. However, I was able to install the certificate within the Kaspersky settings menu. Now the Kaspersky database updates and hopefully the Kaspersky internet traffic monitor error messages will not reappear. Thanks for your help.
