I just downloaded Spybot and I have windows 8. I open it up and click on Update. The blue bar runs through fast and I click on Update again because it says I have no signatures installed yet and it says updates available. So I click on it and it opens up, but nothing happens. I click on show Details, and there is a long list of stuff, but it won't let me update. What do I do?
Your update.logfile might show an error or something.Could you please open Spybot start center,click on Update,then click show Update log,click Edit,select all,then copy and paste it here? :)

I click on update. It says checking for Antispyware updates... and then nothing. No progress bar or anything.

Advanced User Mode was already checked. Spybot proxy wasn't checked. I clicked on update again, and same thing. No updates. I don't know why this isn't working. It's driving me crazy.

I finally got it. I restarted in safe mode with networking. I ran the updates and it worked. Thank you for your help.

When you start in safe mode,a lot of programs don't start with Windows.Since you were able to get Spybot Updates in safe mode,that might indicate that a program is interfering with Updates somehow,so the next time you update in normal mode,if it doesn't work,you might want to post back here.
