Hi, I made a bad mistake in falling for the Adobe Flash Player update scam a few days ago. I am now having a problem with pop up boxes. I've done everything I can to try and stop these. I have:
Uninstalled all the unwanted programs that were installed on the so called "update"
Deleted an unwanted Extension that was placed on Google Chrome
Reset Google Chrome to the original default settings
Changed internet settings to the highest level for pop ups
Ran a full BIT Defender scan (virus scanner I'd been using)
Since I couldn't get rid of them with the above steps, I went to Just Answer.com and with a tech's help ran several programs - Malwarebytes, Combofix, tdsskiller, AdwCleaner, Hijackthis, JRT, Hitmanpro, and RogueKiller. None of these removed the problem.
I purchased Spybot two days ago and ran it, still pop ups. I contacted support and following their suggestion, ran a scan in Safe Mode. Unfortunately, that didn't work either. I am still having the pop ups. Any help you can give to rid my system of these pesky pop ups is appreciated. I have less of them now, but they're still there.
