Not Responding

Hi, I am new here but have been using Spybot Search & Destroy for years. I currently have Windows 8.1 and have the Spybot 2.4 version downloaded and installed but every time I run a scan and attempt to fix the stuff that shows up it says: "not responding" and I have to wait at least a good ten minutes for it to go through.

Is there a reason for this or something I can do to fix this? Any answers would be appreciated tremendously!

You could try not scanning for tracks (http://www.safer-networking.org/faq/usage-tracks/) to see if items might be fixed faster if the amount of items found during a scan is reduced.To do that,open Spybot start center,checkmark advanced user mode,click Settings(say yes to the prompt from UAC),then click the categories tab.Somewhere within the window,rightclick and select Spyware scan only.
