I tried to remove "livecomm.exe" when Norton said it was a high demand resource. I searched WWW and most entries said it was not needed. I clicked on the file and selected Sptbot :kill: option.
SpyBot asked if I really wanted to do it and I said clicked yes. Now I can't access windows e-mail, Some start screen apps no longer work correctly. I'm flipped back to the windows desktop.

PLEASSE PLEASE Help help help a dumb and dumer non techie person.
Thanks for your time and hoping you can help me fix my dork-up.

See ya
Ron

If you have a recent restore point, that should be the easiest and best option. :)

If that doesn't work, let me know.

Hello Zenobia.

Well (big sigh) from :grandpa:. I did not get to work on it until 3/7/2015. I wish I had kept a more detail list of what I did but I didn't.

I had to figure out how to use the Win 8.1 restore option so I would not destroy or delete my newer apps, applications, and files. I found the restore point from 02/15/2015 and restored it.:kboard:
It took a good while to complete but it did. It auto restarted and I loged back in to Windows. The start page tiles worked but there was no picts/info on them just different colored tiles. I executed Windows Update and installed the updates (1-Req 1 -Opt). It ran slow so I took a break and watched TV and munched some stuff.

When I went back up all looked good Start page tiles all had their labels on them and the few I tried work as the had previously. So I went to the desktop and :hair:what little I had left.

When I tried to access the internet using Firefox or IE11 I got XPCOM not found. I :kboard: searched WWW using Tor and found that I needed to Un (use Win Control Panel) and Reinstall my browsers. I used Tor's StartPage and reinstalled Firefox. It again ran slow. But it finished.

All Browsers and the Windows Startpage tiles now worked. I cleaned up using CCleaner. Restarted and all now appears to function (until it don't or I dork it up again) correctly. The access time is also back to where it was before.

Thanks for all your help. You saved me and my PC from the scrap heap.

See ya
Ron
