The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Crawler.Toolbar" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Crawler.Toolbar installs a toolbar and a browser helper object (BHO) to the Internet Explorer. Once run it changes the start and search pages of the browser.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "CrawlerToolbar" and pointing to "*.exe*".
Entries named "CrawlerToolbar" and pointing to "?<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar\Crawler.exe? /STARTUP".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar\Crawler.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar\Plugins\plugins.ini".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar\unins000.dat".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar\unins000.msg".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Crawler.Toolbar uses rootkit technologies, use the rootkit scanner integrated into Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) 2.x or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

The directory at "<$APPDATA>\Crawler Toolbar\Update".
The directory at "<$APPDATA>\Crawler Toolbar\WSGData".
The directory at "<$APPDATA>\Crawler Toolbar".
The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Crawler Toolbar".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar\Buttons".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar\Plugins".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar\Update".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Crawler Toolbar".

A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Crawler.JSServer", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Crawler.JSServer2", plus associated values.
A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Crawler.Toolbar", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{22C1406C-6350-4D3B-9F62-2A3F370AD9A7}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{4545C96B-15D0-4E22-8DDE-6F2CAF531281}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{694AB2B2-6141-4567-9B66-B60FD06AD30F}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "{7CC6C266-6155-4676-AE77-85164EAE29D9}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{9234F5E0-56CC-4F0B-AAE4-0D4BD5032180}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{9234F5E0-56CC-4F0B-AAE4-0D4BD5032180}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
Delete the registry key "{BAA73D86-AFBD-4F73-8243-E7D193FA6C8B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{C4D78C72-08DB-4A3F-9175-B265157283F3}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{F13E61C0-917B-4AAD-96CD-7A5860E25A73}_is1" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\".
Delete the registry key "{FA66632B-E294-4249-B007-64C07C7E0147}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "Crawler Toolbar" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
Delete the registry key "Crawler Toolbar" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
Delete the registry key "crawler" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PROTOCOLS\Handler\".
Delete the registry value "Crawler.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\".
Remove "<regexpr>http\://www\.crawler\.com. " from registry value "Search Bar" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\".
Remove "<regexpr>http\://www\.crawler\.com. " from registry value "Start Page" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\".
Remove "<regexpr>http\://www\.crawler\.com. " from registry value "URL" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{A26C36F3-9D6C-4551-86A4-B3E9C4B7B3CD}\".
Remove "Crawler Search" from registry value "DisplayName" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{A26C36F3-9D6C-4551-86A4-B3E9C4B7B3CD}\".
If Crawler.Toolbar uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer).
