Removing malware

I posted yesterday and cannot find it. My question is when I run a scan it checks the problems and then it ask you if you want to fix the selected. When you hit the fix selected button it puts green checks next to each problem does that mean they have all been fixed? Do you need to wait for a period of time or can you close the application? Thanks
