Hi,
I am running Immunize on two computers weekly. I am not seeing evidence of the Host file changing.
The last save date of Hosts for my Laptop was 6/21/2015, for the Desktop it was 6/22/2015.
How do I know if immunize is working?
Thanks

Hello Frank C,

Are you seeing the window shown here: https://www.safer-networking.org/features/immunization/

Best regards.

Thanks Tashi,
Yes, I do see that window on both machines.
I'll check the record count in both Hosts for a few weeks.
It is 15,563 records today on the desktop. There are 360,069 entries.
It is 15,519 records today on the laptop. There are 313,394 entries.

My concern about immunize was not accurate. The immunize function on both machines is working correctly.
Today there were 313,394 entries immunized on the laptop and 360,069 entries immunized on the Desktop

What I notice is a static HOSTS file.

Before I changed from Spybot 1.6 to Spybot 2.4, I would see regular changes in HOSTS.
Now, desktop Hosts has not changed since Monday, June 22, 2015, 7:30:28 AM.
and on the laptop since Sunday June 21, 2015, 6:20:18 AM.
The HOSTS record count on the desktop is static at 15,563. It is 15,519 on the laptop
Spybot 2.4 was installed on the laptop on 6/21/2015 and on the desktop on 4/14/2015.

Doesn't HOSTS get updated along with immunize?

Hi,
Hosts is still not updating, it remains static on the desktop at record count of 15,563.
I did run Immunize as administrator.
I would appreciate some help with this. Hosts blocking is a very useful feature of Sbybot.

While hosts blocking was useful in the past, it's often not as useful with new malware, which uses servers or names that are available for mere hours. Depending on the kind of new signatures, I could imagine that there simply were no useful hosts in the past updates.
