Spyboy memory usage / crash events

I have just checked my Soluto report of system events and was surprised to see that Spybot was number 1 in terms of crashing my computer. I also suspect the ambient memory it uses is slowing my computer down. Are common Spybot functions usually responsible for system crashes? And are there any settings I could select to lower the memory usage for Spybot? Could any of this be the "incompatibility" between Spybot and other software (such as Trend Micro?)
