• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

need help getting rid of Pipas.A

There are two things that you can try to get rid of the things that Spybot-S&D is having difficulty removing:
  1. Try to run it the next time you reboot.
    • Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Settings > Settings > look for "System start" (located half way down the page).
    • Check the option: "Run program once at next system startup".
    • Reboot the system.
  2. Run it in Safe mode.
    • Reboot your system in Safe mode (see note below) and run Spybot-S&D.
If Spybot-S&D still fails to remove the problems you can request assistance in the Malware Removal forum.

The instructions for running preliminary scans, producing logs and posting in that forum outlined in the following reference:
After completing those steps, start a new thread (topic) in the following forum:

Note: Safe mode

I see that you have posted the following thread in the Malware Removal forum:
I also noticed that you failed to include the logs produced from the posting instructions that I referenced above.

Is there any way that I can clarify the following statement so that others do not make the same omission?

Sorry about posting the second thread. Using a forum is new to me. I could not find my original post after reading up on HJT. I posted another thread when I could not find my first one. I did as recommended, ran Sbybot in safe mode. Pipas.A is still there. What can we do next?

scjones:

I was honestly trying to figure out why it appears that people who are directed to seek help in the Malware Removal forum from other threads seem to fail to post the required logs a significantly higher percentage of the time than those first time ever posters who post directly into the Malware Removal forum.

I would still appreciate knowing if my instruction were not clear.
