Hi, i'm having problems with this icon/bubble appearing on my taskbar, i have followed the advice in the sticky and have downloaded all the antispyware programs asked for. However, when i click on smitfraudfix.cmd
i get a screen telling me
process. exe file is missing!
Unzip all the archive in a folder.
Press any key to comtinue...
As a complete novice i would be grateful for any 1 to 1 help i can get, thanks in advance! This thing is really beginning to grate.

Welcome to the forum, you do indeed have a Smitfraud infection and some other junk also. Here is the information I have been posting to make sure you have it all:

Spybot-S&D: Be sure to follow the directions to save the scan report but do not post it here unless requested by a helper.

In that link is this information: Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
So...McAfee must be blocking process.exe though it did not do it on my computer when I tried the download. The few times I have run into this I suggested that when you are ready to download, turn off McAfee for only that time to get the download and turn it right back on. I can say that the removal tool will not work without it.
Once you get the complete download, then follow the directions from the beginning.
I might add that you can ignore the warning about #2 in the fix, you do have an infected computer.
