Hi,

I installed a techsmith video codec trying to play an old video I had. It installed pluto tv without my permission. I uninstalled pluto tv, but now spybot immunization will not finish, even after reboot, and leaves 193 items unprotected. Browser and computer performance down since.
Any help appreciated.

Spybot version 2.5.42.0
Start Center 2.5.42.130
OS: Windows 7 SP1
Security: Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition Version 12.1.4100.4126
I did try disabling it before running immunization a second time after the initial immunization couldn't finish based on the dialog.
I downloaded the codec from techsmith.com
I guess it's a proprietary codec they use in their screen capture programs. I was trying to open an old screen capture video from like 2009.

It is possible there are leftovers from the pluto tv installation so if you would like someone to take a look at the system, please see the Malware Removal Forum (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22) sticky.

It includes guidelines and instructions in post #2 on how to provide the logs from Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and aswMBR, which are the logs used in the preliminary analysis.

If you decide to do that please start a new topic in that forum providing the logs so a volunteer analyst can advise.
