Wasn't sure where to post this. I ran two scans after being infected with Springfiles adware on my Windows 8. I have a USB stick setup with antimalware portable apps for emergencies, including Spybot 2.4. The Win 8 is all fine now. I Refreshed it after my efforts for removal failed. The reason I'm posting about it is MBAM completely missed it. I always scan files I download just in case before opening them. This time MBAM said it was clean when it wasn't. Not really MBAM's fault but I update its files every day. Could be a new form/variation of the malware? I got it from the latest patch for Fallout New Vegas. It's no longer available at Bethesda. Sorry but the originating file was nuked. Just keep an eye out. I was afraid it might get my banking stuff from Firefox, but I checked with my bank and no worries. Firefox was removed entirely.
