Spybot closes down my computer

Hi. I run Spybot Search & Destroy + AV2.4 on an old Dell Studio laptop with Windows Vista os. My problem is that when I run the Spybot scan each night, it closes my computer right down after about 20 minutes of scanning. Any suggestions? Thanks, DA
