Question about latest Microsoft update for Windows 7

I use Spybot plus antivirus Professional edition. You guys, I trust. I am having problems with the latest updates for Windows 7. I have also been doing some research and see that many others are having issues as well. Some are offering a fix; however, I wanted to check here first to see how people are handling this. Can you recommend a good and safe solution?
