I'm hoping for a little step by step guidance for removing strcodec, virus burst virus. There is plenty to read already, it must be the latest virus or one of them anyway, but in all honesty I'm not confident of my abilities to follow the instructions. I've manually removed as much as I can, and nortons doesn't pick it up at all. Can you please help out? Cheers!

Seeing as my tech knowledge is, well, let's face it - non-existant, I was more than a little hesitant to do anything towards fixing the virus without prompts for every key I touch. I appreciate your zeal at trying to go it alone, but I still see stuff in the HJT log that may be related to the Smitfraud infection and without seeing the information in the logs I have no way of know if Smitfraud is still there since much of the infection does not show in the HJT log.

I can relate, looks like a big rabbit to me. Here we have Manatees (SeaCows) won't let us eat then though, they need then to have something for the speedboats to practice on...lol

No big thing since you will not be using it, but you should move HJT from the Desktop for safety. I prefer C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe, if you need additional instructions use these: http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm

I suggest riding yourself of this one: O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [IncrediMail] C:\Program Files\IncrediMail\bin\IncMail.exe /c it may not be malware, but it sure is a resource waster. Your HJT log is clean, great job:bigthumb:

ewido is a great program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
