You've been busy. Sorry to hear it's been a nightmare trying to find a newer machine.

Items that you would like to download and run on the older computer can usually be transferred over by USB, set things to download and install to desktop if possible or to a folder you can find easily. The machine has so many issues that it probably needs to be reformatted.
If you don't have any sort of recovery disk, you might be able to send for one at the manufacturer web site.

my spybot home edition, can i get a new license for my new pc?
I've submitted questions for this and should hear back soon.

Using a memory card sounds fine but I'm not sure.

I haven't done this myself, have heard of people using USB's ?

Let's give this tool a go and see if it can repair any types of connections.

This scan may take quite a while to run.

Tweaking.com - Windows Repair All-In-One (Portable)

- Download Windows Repair All-In-One (Portable Version) from here (https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/windows-repair-all-in-one/).

- Extract tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip to your Desktop.

- Disable all your antivirus and antimalware software - see how to do that here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/114351/how-to-temporarily-disable-your-anti-virus-firewall-and-anti-malware-programs/).
- Right click on https://i.imgur.com/QfBzvq1.png and select Run as Administrator (XP users just double click) to start Windows Repair All-In-One.
(Windows Vista/7/8 users: Accept UAC warning if it is enabled.)

- A window will appear. Click Step 2.
http://i.imgur.com/2f8o60N.png

- Click the Open Pre-Scan button, then click Start Scan. Wait for Windows Repair to finish scanning.

- Depending on which error Windows Repair found, click Repair Reparse Point or Repair Environment Variable accordingly. When the button changes to "Done!", click the close button to return to Windows Repair.

- Go to Step 3, then click Check in the See If Check Disk Is Needed.

- If Windows Repair stated that errors are found, click Open Check Disk At Next Boot. Choose (/R) Fixes errors on the disk also locate bad sectors and recovers readable information, then click Add To Next Boot. Reboot the computer to let Windows check the disk.
http://i.imgur.com/Ymy7crZ.png

- Go to Step 4, then click Do It.
http://i.imgur.com/zDtdN75.png

- Go to Step 5. Under System Restore click Create.
http://i.imgur.com/f7lEe1N.png

- Go to Repairs and click Open Repairs. Leave all checkmarks as they are, then click Start Repairs.
http://i.imgur.com/PGv2vtD.png

- By default Windows Repair All-In-One will create a "Logs" folder in its folder on the Desktop. Please post the contents of the log in your next reply.

ok Juliet, I have done all you have suggested using this program and the only problems I encountered were just a few. first let me say I have been online and off again and back on without getting booted at all since early afternoon when I started this. before I would be logged off usually by the time I logged on here or shortly after. that was due to a driver in my cellphone network adapters being very outdated...as it was a Microsoft driver last edited 2006, 11 years ago. I doubt they installed an 11 year old driver on this phone leaving me to think the incident leading up to this must be where that came from. now, the problems I just had in this is that when this happened I ran system restore to see if it helped. I backed it up to about jan. 25 needless to say it didn't help. when I was prompted by the scan to do a reg. backup and system restore it prompted me about undoing the previous sys. res. which I chose to and it failed and did not undo the previous. the other thing is minor involving firefox which I uninstalled after my incident and using edge now in this it prompted me a few times that edge wouldn't open under this admin and to log in under another admin account...? hmmm...new to me! this seems to be running ok. now there is an entire folder of tweaking reports and other files...which do I send...there are a lot!

I don't think I need to see any of those logs.

Please find these tools I had you download earlier and delete those.

AdwCleaner and Junkware Removal Tool

We'll see if we can get updated versions

~~~
http://i.imgur.com/BY4dvz9.png AdwCleaner
Please download AdwCleaner (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/dl/125/) and save the file to your Desktop.
In order to use AdwCleaner, you have to agree the Eula:
Right-click AdwCleaner.exe and select http://i.imgur.com/AVOiBNU.jpg Run as administrator to run the programme.
Follow the prompts.
Click http://i.imgur.com/A49sxPr.png Scan.
Upon completion, click http://i.imgur.com/6cyn5v5.png Logfile. A log (AdwCleaner[S1].txt) will open. Briefly check the log for anything you know to be legitimate.
Return to AdwCleaner. Ensure anything you know to be legitimate does not have a checkmark under the corresponding tab.
Click http://i.imgur.com/MqHawIb.png Clean.
Follow the prompts and allow your computer to reboot.
After the reboot, a log (AdwCleaner[C1].txt) will open. Copy the contents of the log and paste in your next reply.
-- File and folder backups are made for items removed using this programme. Should a legitimate file or folder be removed (otherwise known as a 'false-positive'), simple steps can be taken to restore the item. Please do not overly concern yourself with the contents of AdwCleaner[C1].txt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please download Junkware Removal Tool (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/)
or from here http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/jrt
to your desktop.

Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
The tool will open and start scanning your system.
Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.

~~~
Since all passwords have been changed. the best to do for now is practice safe surfing as best you can.
Mine has done this before too, and if I'm right it kinda corrects itself. Mostly I click on the stop loading button on the browser bar.
It's possibly due to system security. ...it's one of those, who knows?
Maybe we need to do an online scanner check?
well i don't remember what day now...we were about to do the cleanup of programs and something went south. that's when i looked in DM and saw all the adapters and there being maybe 12-13. the ones that aren't there now show up somehow and i thought maybe from microsoft in updates. they are WAN with different numbers. the realtek i don't know how came to be. the samsung is my cell tethered to my pc. if they show again i'll try and track them down to stop them and delete them.
hello juliet, thanks for your patience...i believe i've lost my desktop unless you have some more magic somewhere. it was doing fine as i did as you said. it did fine as i would like it to do but it still had a few quirks like taking forever to load. today it did ok, nothing unusual and when i went to use it this evening it won't open windows. it will open to my sign in and i go to type my password and my mouse quits. i've tried several corded and wireless. the courser disappears or just freezes up. if i do get to type it my keyboard quits before i get it typed in. it has come on a few times and opened the blue page saying it needs to restart or would i want to troubleshoot. i tried restore and it got me to the desktop when it failed. the other choices are restart windows and another i can't remember. it's open in bios setup now which i left on in case there was something to be done. let me know if you have any ideas or last words...i'll check in tomorrow...thanks...
ron
Dang......
couple of things to try
Unplug the computer from the power supply for a few minutes, plug stuff back in and reboot.?
Try a different USB port?
What does it do when you try to boot into safe mode?
try clearing the CMOS by turning off and unplugging your computer fully, opening up the computer and remove a battery, then place the battery back in carefully.
Reboot the computer and see if anything has been fixed?
well i'm as surprised as can be! after I posted that I sat here looking at the back of the unit and saw the main plug. I went ahead thinking ok let's see. It loaded the blue page and had about 5 options, 2 or 3 I had already tried. to start in safe mode it would ask for my password then the pen would freeze or cursor would freeze. if not that the keyboard would. when it came on I was down to two options, let it restore the pc and remove all programs except those that came with it, but i'd lose no files. the other was to wipe it clean and start over which would also destroy all my files. I chose to try the first as it all was no good to me as it was and sure enough it started and showed it's progress and sure enough, now it sits here cleaned and ready and i'm using it now. it did have the old problem of network providers and no one knew nothing. included is a pic of all network adapters and 2-3 days ago all these odd one's weren't here and now they are and earlier I had trouble getting online. I am gonna try to assess it all and get back with you this eve or tomorrow. I know this all sounds crazy but I assure you this is going on
Good golly wish I knew what was going on here but I ain't got a clue.
Use it a little bit...tenderly, and see how it behaves.
I can send you to another forum and have them look over hardware and things like that ....thats where I have no idea what to do next.
i used it a little today and it seems to take the internet pretty good. i looked at my files which all seem to be there but in uninstall there are three programs only. is there any type of system scan that could show what happened?
Programs or Apps? I ask because Apps from the App store don't show up in Programs and features. They are in Settings > System > Apps & Features.
I meant to get back before now but have been busy. I have been using this pc and all seems ok but...the other night while using firefox, I clicked on a Walmart link within the Walmart website to "make this store mine" and there was the Microsoft prompt with a message for me that I was causing other computers to become infected with malware and I had been restricted until I called the number...I don't know why I didn't think to get it. I don't know if it would show up in history or show up as. I attempted to close it and it wouldn't close until I opened task mgr. and ended the task. no problems of it since. so...any ideas?
What you did was the correct thing to do.
The link within a link sent a SCAM/SPAM to your browser.
When this occurs, open task manager, right click on the browser your using, select end task and that closes all of it.
Doesn't necessarily mean your infected, if you like you can open MBAM ( Malwarebytes Anti-Malware) and run a threat scan.
We ready to remove tools and quarantine folders?
ok Juliet, and thanks for the help and your patience. sorry again I was slow but am in the process of moving again and haven't been on much. the only problem I see currently that is a worry is powering on and logging on. it seems the windows login window takes forever to load and seems to freeze before getting there...that's where this problem began most recently of windows not opening. I doubt there's much to do for that, just hope windows opens!
What your describing doesn't point to malware but might be related to drivers or hardware.
