View Full Version : Spybot sysyrm scan never completes
The app is updated, the system scan launches, progresses normally, but never completes and closes out. It shows 100% on the progress bar, but leaves me with the following message: "Status: Scan progressing...
Product: Zlob.ZipCodec downloaded files..."
it has reoccurred after I have closed out, relaunched, removed the program and reinstalled it. or even left it running in that status for days on end. Any guidance would be appreciated!
There's an article that sounds like your problem here:
https://www.safer-networking.org/2016/fix-system-scan-freeze-zlob-zipcodec/
There's an installer there, but you might want to manually update Spybot instead, spybotsd2-install-iefreezefix.exe should be available as an update, if it hadn't been installed already. :)

Thanks - installed from http://api.256file.com/spybotsd2-install-iefreezefix.exe/en-download-124285.html and the scan works now as intended.

killed the scan, closed all S&D processes and services,
i've dropped this file into every System folder (System, System32, SystemWoW64, Windows, and c:\)
restarted the scan, still hangs at 100%, at Zlob.ZipCodec downloaded files.
I downloaded the installer from here:
https://www.safer-networking.org/2016/fix-system-scan-freeze-zlob-zipcodec/
and the default installation path is this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy 2
That's probably where it goes, since it is selected by default. :)

Yep, and thats where it is, in addition to every other dang place. Screw it. Uninstalling, because support is practically non-responsive.
Too bad. Spybot S&D used to be the bee's knees, now it's just crapware.
Hello Technoir,
Uninstalling, because support is practically non-responsive.
Had you opened a support ticket (https://www.safer-networking.org/support/ticket/technical/)? I see only the three posts from you started this weekend and you were responded to in this thread the same day. :)
Best regards.
