On the advice of a local tech, I downloaded and ran SpyBot. It found 134 threats, all of them have an estimated danger level of low or very low. But for quite a few of them, the text in the Location column has "(is not)" at the end. What the heck does that mean? Any why doesn't Help Search return anything for that string?

The string "is not" at the end of a registry item means that the value of this entry has been changed to a lower security level and is different to the Windows standard value. Thus Spybot detects it and can restore the default and more secure value. I am sorry to say I do not know why the help search does not return anything for this string though.
