My installed version of Windows Defender has turned off Real-time AV protection due to another AV protection program on my computer. The only other protection I have is a free version of Spybot. (I pay for it with donations, not an actual purchase.) I didn't think it had real-time protection. I don't want to be without either one, but I only run Spybot once a week-ish. Do I need to uninstall Spybot in order to turn on real-time AV protection? I am using Win10 on my pc and use Google as my browser. Thanks for the help.

Hello JudithD, :welcome:

"User of Windows 10 may have noticed that Windows Defender will stop running in Windows 10 when Spybot is installed.

Windows will disable this program if it detects another antivirus program on your PC in order to prevent conflict between the multiple antivirus programs installed.

The Free Edition of Spybot also falls into this category, because it contains antivirus components from the paid editions."
