I have Windows 10 installed and just upgraded to the Home Edition.

Now I have been getting notices that the Windows Defender and Spybot are both turned off. Windows Defender was automatically turned off anyway due to installing Spybot S&D.
I then get a pop up that says I should save this file and send it to support: BitDefender Threat Scanner.dmp I tried to upload it to the website support for Spybot, but get a message from you folks that I can't?

I checked my updates for SS&D and found that the following file was not installed:

spybotsd2-install-scannerservice.exe

Everytime I start up my computer Iget the pop-up to send this file to you folks and that my scanner service isn't working.
I never had a problem with the Free Edition like this. Do you have a solution for this so that I can use the antivirus? I hate to pay for something that won't work!

There's a webpage for the BitDefender Threat Scanner.dmp issue, please try the instructions there. :)

For spybotsd2-install-scannerservice.exe, please try updating once again. If it isn't successful, then it's probably a good idea for you to open a support ticket here:

Been using Spybot (free version) for years..Get new computer, got Spybot..Got some updates..but "scan system" won't scan..Icon for it is only partially there...Have I missed something? And, if a trojan gets in, will free version Spybot let me know it's there?

The free version of Spybot 2.4/2.5 doesn't have Live Protection, so it will not let you know that a trojan is there on your computer as it happens. I'll give you a link describing Live Protection.

Could you describe the icon only partially being there a little more? Is the System Scan showing as greyed out or as three dots, or anything like that?
If you could take a screenshot of it and upload it, that would be helpful.

Using the snipping tool might be best to keep the size of the screenshot down so it can possibly be uploaded here. Or, you can upload the screenshot to somewhere like imgur, then copy the link and paste it here for me to see if you like. :)
