Length of Time of System Scan Run

Hello, am new to this Forum but not to Spybot which I have been using for about ten years now. I recently went on to SpyBot Professional. My last successful scan was in late October. The last two times I've tried to Scan the time has started about 25 minutes and as it gets down to 1 minute left it goes to about 545 mins and just runs (note this is on a windows surface book mainly for domestic use). In addition when I tried to use today I received a message saying the latest windows patch had deleted SpyBot which then re-installed itself. I ran it again and same outcome.

Do any of you more technically able people have any idea why this might be happening?
