• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

    Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

    Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

    We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

Dialog window corrupt

I just installed SpyBot. After scanning my computer, it said it found 43 problems. I said, "Fix all". It ran then said, "Can't fix 2 - will fix at re-boot time". I said, "fine". Then it displays a dialog box - something about trapping an update to the registry - with 4 buttons - the first and the fourth button only displayed the top third of the button and the button text was unreadable. The second button was a "?" and the third said "Quit" (if I remember correctly - these buttons were fully displayed). I wanted to say, "OK, change my registry to fix these errors at next startup", but I didn't know which button to push (couldn't read them). So I closed the dialog box and it said, "Registry update denied". So I guess I still have two problems. :spider:

Here is how to get Spybot to run at start-up,after you reboot(taken from one of md usa spybot fan's posts.)

Try to run it the next time you reboot.

* Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Settings > Settings > look for
"System start" (located half way down the page).
* Check the option: "Run program once at next system startup".
* Reboot the system.

(adding this,because I went past my 15 minute edit opportunity.)

To return Spybot from Advanced mode to normal mode,just open Spybot,click Mode up top,then select Default Mode.

Or you could just run another Spybot scan after you fix Teatimer,then Allow the change for Spybot to run on reboot,might be easier.
