hey, I'm a first time poster, long time browser but I've got some problems I can't seem to beat, so I figure i'll give it one last shot before formatting.

I googled some of the URLs that keep popping up in firefox, and it seems as if i might have this Look2Me malware thing, and who knows what else I might have. Internet explorer has popups too but not nearly as many, the online virus scan I tried (eTrust) said I had some problems, alot of stuff in the system restore area, but it also said it was able to delete them.

Here is my HJT log:

Hi

Uncheck "run as task" and try again...

Also I believe you have malware hiding from hijackthis... please do this....

find the hijackthis.exe file and rename it to Zachno.exe then run it again (in NORMAL mode) .. your last log was run in safemode .... post the new log

hey,
I dont seem to have a c:\look2me-destroyer.txt
I uploaded the file, c:\windows\system32\lsyss.exe
to the website and they didnt find anything wrong with it
but as I was browsing for it, symantec labeled it as infected with "W32.spybot.worm" and was unable to delete it.
I disconnected from the internet,
i ran HJT and ticked the three items and fixed them
then I went and tried to delete lsyss.exe, which i couldnt
then i opened task manager and killed its process, and before I could delete it symantec did it.
Then I rebooted cause HJT told me too and here is the new log:
