Hello,

Many people are asking for recommendations regarding firewall and antivirus software they should use.
Our recommendation regarding firewalls is Outpost from Agnitum.
http://www.agnitum.com/download/outpost1.html
Even the free version - Outpost Free - will fit most users' needs.
For a free anti-virus software for personal use, take a look at H+BEDV AntiVir:

I have to comment about OneCare being Cr@p. I use OneCare and SpyBot and like both programs. Did it occur to you that OneCare never reports anything because it catches it on the way in. My SpyBot never catches anything either except for "MY" usage tracks and I suspect that it doesn't "catch" anything for the exact same reason. OneCare is actually of great benefit on my LAN. If you think OneCare is slow you need to try Norton or McAfee. Not only are they SLOW but they are nearly impossible to completely uninstall. This is just one users experience but I have been using PC's almost since their inception and no program I have ever tried is perfect. What are you running? I have a dual boot (XP SP3 and Windows 7 "Beta" with an AMD Athlon X2 3800+, 4 gig of RAM and a reasonably sized Paging file on my second fixed hard drive and I do not find anything to be too slow.
