View Full Version : Spybot anti-beacon will not install on Win 8.1 32 bit system.

Hello,
I've been an avid user of SB Anti-Beacon for several years since discovering it. I had no trouble reinstalling it on my Win 10 Pro system but when I tried to install it on my Win 8.1, 32 bit system I get an error box stating a 64 bit program can't be installed on a 32 bit system and I can go no further... It ran SB 1.6 without a problem...
I went back to the website to see if a 32 bit download was available with no joy.
Help!
There are some people who are getting a "Cannot install files to 64-bit locations on this version of Windows" posting on the last page here:

I found an Anti-Beacon Support page on the Spybot website, so you could try filling out the form so you can get help from support:

Yea, well if they ever actually answer on this, let us all know. I already submitted a ticket almost a month ago on this, and they never responded.
Oh, I have no way of knowing when Spybot support answers. :)
Nor do I really know the proceedings to follow if they do not answer (other than to check your spam folder in case their email reply accidentally went there.)
You'll probably want to talk to tashi, she knows about things like this, and/or usually can find out.
I see you posted at the end of the anti-beacon thread. You could post there again and ask if she could help you find out about the reply from Team Spybot, or something along those lines. As long as her notifications are working, she's very likely to reply.

FYI, the 32-bit "Internal error: cannot install files to 64-bit locations on this version of windows" error has been resolved in ver 2.2
Oh, good. I'm glad it was resolved. :)
