I had a tech support scam pop-up the other night. After closing the browser, I wanted to run Spybot. Spybot advised that there was a newer version so I proceeded to load it. Then I got this message:
13070
\WINDOWS\TEMP\BitDefender Threat Scanner.dmp. A problem has occured in BitDefender Threat Scanner. A file containing error information has been created at C: WINDOWS \ BitDefender Threat Scanner . dmp. You are strongly encouraged to send the file to the developers of the application for further investigation of this error.
Anyway, this message appeared in a box and would not leave my screen. I turned the Win 10 laptop off and it was still there when I restarted. I had to sign into the laptop with this message on top of the sign in box.
I was successful getting rid of it finally, but I'm gun shy about running Spybot now. Any advice?
