View Full Version : persistent cookies
I run SpyBot daily and eleminate the following cookies when prompted. They are : AvenueA,Inc....DoubleClick.....HitBox......MediaPlex....
Problem is.....they are not completely removed. Meaning, next day they are discovered again....What do I do wrong ?
(I have not much experience, but would like some help with this)

Hello,
Which browser do you use?
Do you have the bad downloadblocker activated?
Best regards

Just want you to know, that for the fifth day straight, Spybot tells me that my computer is free of spyware ! :) I keep my fingers crossed of course, but it's kind of nice to know,...... and to finally get rid of these pests ! Thanks !

Okay, my turn. My scans consistantly turn up HitBox, MediaPlex and Avenue A. Each time I select "fix" and the very next scan turns up the same problems.
I have the suggested fixes already selected in SpyBot and the problem keeps coming up.
Any other suggestions??
Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your suggestion, I already have my settings in both Firefox and IE set as recommended.
Still have those persistant cookies!
1. Set cookie blocker in browser (IE) higher, to at least 'medium'
2. Have Spybot scan your computer in 'safemode' at least once
3. Schedule daily scans
4. immunize often
Since I set my browser's security higher, 'HitBox' has been effectively blocked
as indicated on little security icon on taskbar.
Nothing magic, but something went right for me ! Good luck ! :)
