Smitfraud-C. removal assistance needed

[Smittied]

I think I have "Smitfraud-C." on my computer. I ran Spybot S&D version 1.3, it found Smitfraud-C. but could not remove it. I downloaded Spybot S&D 1.4, last detection 9-22-2006, and it seemed to incdcate that it removed Smitfraud-C., but the desktop blue screen and balloon pops from the windows tray (directing me to antispyware software for sale) continues.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 (version 5.1).

Delete smithfraudfix (if you still have it) and redownload then run it while the pc is in safe mode using option 2, afterwards run Ewido again.(not need for its log this time)

"My desktop is blank"
Next Click Start, click Control Panel and then double-click Display. Click on the Desktop tab, then click the Customize Desktop button. Click on the Web tab. Under Web Pages you should see a checked entry called Security info or something similar. If it is there, select that entry and click the Delete button. Click Ok then Apply and Ok.



Go ahead and delete combofix and smithfraudfix, if ever needed again they would have probaly been changed.

Repeat that proccess about once or twice a month
