The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Ad.WebSearch" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Ad.WebSearch installs the WebSearch application to the program folder and registers a Browser Helper Object (BHO) for its library. Once run it opens the default browser and shows advertising websites.
Removal Instructions:

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSearch\Util\Remove.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Ad.WebSearch uses rootkit technologies, use the rootkit scanner integrated into Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) 2.x or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSearch\Util".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WebSearch".

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "WebSearch.WSearch", plus associated values.
Delete the registry key "{11DA6223-D009-4A20-A7C6-DCDA65903A0F}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{1FF04B25-0A23-4A12-960C-73F8B9950436}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{1FF04B25-0A23-4A12-960C-73F8B9950436}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
Delete the registry key "{213DAE48-95AC-4CE3-A36C-4497059DBF8F}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
Delete the registry key "{4BB8D69A-560E-4D34-91C8-507695D75646}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{66C8A0E1-CA67-47F8-9695-362DA97A4E83}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{836BF8AE-4EB8-4404-ADB4-6CD9919B1AED}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{B30C1F52-850A-40C9-B1B2-7C3B8117003C}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{C8BFB0C2-2C95-4387-9441-EB6DC0411F2A}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{F317A0FD-72F0-4938-83F6-AA6212124466}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "{FA7B8B22-3CCC-43FE-877B-346226F43225}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
Delete the registry key "WebSearch" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\".
If Ad.WebSearch uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
