Hi

Task manager is showing Windows Defender Antivirus Service is still running after I have paid for and installed SB Home.

Is there a setting I need to change to make SB be the AV?

Thanks
Kenzo

Hello Kenzo,

Did you reboot? Usually when a legitimate antivirus program is installed it will register itself to Windows and Defender will step down (disable) to prevent problems.

Best regards,
tashi

Hi Kenzo,

I'd responded to your previous topic posted April 16th: System very slow (https://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?77201-System-very-slow-and-wondering-if-RootAlyzer-logs-shed-any-light&p=483231#post483231)

Other than the slowness is your computer running as it should or do you have concerns?

Best regards.

Hello Kenzo,

Two resident anti-virus programs can cause system performance problems and a serious slowdown.

What is the operating system?

How to Turn Off Windows Defender (Windows 10) (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/all/how-to-turn-off-windows-defender-windows-10/b78f0b35-8997-4a80-831a-601385b961db)

Hope that helps, let us know. :kboard:

Hi Tashi

Thanks for your input so far.

I am using Win 10 Home.

I installed gpedit.msc and tried to use it to stop defender but I can't see it listed (see screenshot)
