While updating I get this message: “An error occurred during antivirus updates!” The home edition I have is Search & Destroy +AV 2.7. Everything else seems to be okay. I've scanned thru old threads on this topic, but those do not help me. The update stops with these last two items on the list:

I apologize for slow response Zenobia. I can expand the screen, but it only shows the "(e". Could be for error, but no way to know for sure.
Just did another Update and received the same message, see below. It is from the bottom (3rd) portion on the update screen titled "An error occured during antivirus updates!"
Oddly, the middle box says "Antispyware updates completed." in green. I tried to paste a screen shot of the window, but can't seem to do it.
Going to the "show details" tab at the bottom right corner of the update screen, everything listed has a green check mark. Nothing indicates a problem.

That's okay. :)
If that is the start of an error message, it will probably show in the Update log. I might not be able to help with an antivirus update error, but it will be good to have it if you contact support.

The update logfile might have a lot of entries in it. If so, can you scroll down quite a ways, then highlight the text down to the bottom of the page with your mouse, then copy and paste it here? Thanks.

I have been trying to update since the beginning of January. I finally contacted support, but can not open the reply they sent, as Google mail can not access it correctly and also errors out.

I am having this EXACT same issue. I am running Spybot Search & Destroy+AV professional 2.7 version: 2.7.64.0 Update: 2.7.64.98

It starting working again a few weeks after my post, so I think the tech folks did something. A few days later they had me uninstall and reinstall the program and I have not had any problems at all since it started working. Be sure to have the product key ready for when you reinstall. Hope this helps.

They were able to update after a bit, so maybe try updating again, and if that doesn't work you could try opening a support ticket if you'd like to:

It's been like this for at least a week now, I try it every now and then.
You could manually download the updates:
https://www.safer-networking.org/pt-br/faq/can-i-manually-download-updates-in-spybot-2/
That will work with antispyware definition updates, but if you have one of the Spybot versions that include antivirus you cannot manually download the antivirus updates.
