How to diable the 'Spybot Lab Update News' pop-up window?

Hello and I hope that you are all well.

I have been using Spybot-S&D Start Center and Spybot Anti-Beacon for a couple of years now. I am very happy with them and have never had any issues with the software itself.

The only issue I am having is with the 'Spybot Lab Update News' pop-up window and I am unable to find a way to disable it. For many months it pops up every time I start my computer and after that it pops up every few hours thereafter - I see it at least 2 or 3 times every time I am using my computer. It really is not necessary to have this keep popping up.

There was an updated installer released to take care of that. It's mentioned in this thread here by (m/f):

I'm unsure if you still need to reinstall or not, so you might like to try updating Spybot first, and if the pop-up news lab continues then you can try reinstalling. If you have to reinstall, MargaretMCN\s post is a good one to follow along with:

And also for me! Reinstalling with version 2.8.68 as mentioned in the other thread seems to have done the trick (even though the 'About Sbybot' information states that the version I have is still 2.8.67). The main thing is the pop-up is now gone. Thank you Zenobia! :2thumb:
