Klone Virus

I thought i got rid of the virii that were on this computer, however it looks like im wrong. AVG gives me a virus found notification with the name as Klone. I searched on the net, however I have not found anything. Any thoughts? Popup madness. Thanks, Matthew

Welcome to the forum, If you still need help, please follow these directions:

You are running two antivirus programs at the same time and this is not a good thing. They conflict with each other and you will be less safe than if you ran one good program and maintained it properly. Uninstall one, update the one you keep and run a complete system scan, post for me any item that can't be removed, the complete name and pathway.

Matthew, You did not tell me anything about these popups, but I will guess they probably direct you to the rouge spyware removal program called Winfixer?

You have a very out of date Java program, see this information:

I would also like to check to make sure there is no hidden Smitfraud infection. Once you complete the above instructions, then do this.

1) Please download SmitfraudFix (http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip) (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

2) Return to here: C:\Virus Removal\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe <<< right click and rename the .exe, call it Matthew.exe or whatever. Post a new HJT log and the report from Smitfraudfix. I will know more once I have that information.
