Hello,

I'm having difficulty in getting rid of a Party Poker pop up. Its an ad that pops up every 5 to 10 mins. I've eliminated the multitudes of pop ups except for this one. It's always the same ad. Thank you for your attention.

Here is the requested information:

The title of the pop up window is
"PartyPoker.com - The King of Online Poker - Microsoft Internet Explorer"

Its always the same one that pops up. No other advertisements.

Welcome to the forum, here is some information about a BHO that is installed on your computer:
O2 - BHO: SSL encrypt - {746455FE-D059-47e7-AF0E-140E03F5A447} - C:\WINNT\system32\nst1BC.dll
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/pest/pest.aspx?id=58306

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\ <<< out of date, see this information:
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2 and update that program right away.

I don't see much else in the way of malware in the HJT log, so let's get rid of it and clean a little like this.

1) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs and look for anything that may be associated with the item you just read about. Uninstall it and anything else you see that you know does not belong there. If you are undecided, let me know and I will look.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: SSL encrypt - {746455FE-D059-47e7-AF0E-140E03F5A447} - C:\WINNT\system32\nst1BC.dll
(next two are resource wasters related to Alexa toolbar. If you do not use it remove them)
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINNT\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINNT\web\related.htm

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

3) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log, let me know if that takes care of your issue.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for helpping me my problem. The party poker pop up is still comming up. Granted it takes about 20mins for it to do so and its only 1 time. As the items you asked to take care of the Java indicates it is the latest version. If you feel that is a possible problem I can also uninstall that. But here is the latest Hijackthis for your review.

I also updated and ran the latest spybot and it tells me I'm clean.

OK and thanks for returning the information. I usually pass these kinds of topics because the junk is not really malware and the programs we use don't remove stuff that was probably downloaded on purpose. It may be it came along with something else when the EULA agreement was not read and can be very difficult to locate and remove. I suggest you use your search function to see what you can locate by searching for "party poker" or any other variation you can see in the popups.

Download and run this program to see if it will remove it, follow the instructions in the link. I suggest it will do a better job if run in Safe Mode:
http://www.virusvault.co.uk/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/33/

Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Let me know if you find anything while searching.

You are picking up new infections as you go, this was not in the last log:
O2 - BHO: RunBus Class - {4865F155-CE00-4E93-A414-147844D7C81A} - C:\WINNT\system32\tcblbzco.dll
Use HJT to remove that item.

I am fairly sure that Java program is out of date, you can check it here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

Restart the computer and post the AVG scan results and a new HJT log.

Thanks

Thank you for your guys help in removing the pop-up. You were correct in directing me to an installed program. After your help in clearing up the files, you noticed that I was being reinfected. So I started to remove programs starting with the latest one. When I removed the Google toolbar and re-ran the ATF cleaner that did it. I kept my system up for 12+ hours without a pop-up. Normally it would take less than 20 mins. before I saw one. I then downloaded another copy from Google and installed it. So far after 1+ hours I'm still pop-up free. I've included a copy of my scan for your review. Thank you once again.

This item is still in the log??

You are picking up new infections as you go, this was not in the last log:
O2 - BHO: RunBus Class - {4865F155-CE00-4E93-A414-147844D7C81A} - C:\WINNT\system32\tcblbzco.dll
Use HJT to remove that item

This is new: O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Chckup] C:\WINNT\system32\Netverchk.exe I am showing it is bad.
http://fileinfo.prevx.com/spyware/qqe7ee46377171-NETV26379566/NETVERCHK.EXE.html You are not downloading this junk are you?

My information is showing this item is good: O20 - Winlogon Notify: DfLogon - C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\LogonDll.dll
http://fileinfo.prevx.com/QQ008817719482-LOGO201550/LOGONDLL.DLL.html
do you know what this item is for?
If not, use one or more of these free online scanners and post the results for me.

I reguested a scan from here, twice: http://www.virusvault.co.uk/fusionbb...ic.php?tid/33/
How to remove malware using AVG Anti-Spyware

You posted a Kaspersky results, while that is a good program, it is not the scan I requested?

This item: LogonDll.dll showed in Kaspersky like this: Scanned file: LogonDll.dll
Earlier searches did not turn up anything bad, I suggest you use these online scanners to be sure it is a valid file:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html

Beside that, I see no malware in this HJT log.

Thanks

Im Glad we could help
Since the problems are solved Im going to close the topic now, this keeps others with similar problems from posting there logs/question here, they should start a new topic.

If you should need to post another log for the same PC let one of us know via a PM (personal message).
