Having some serious problems here. The computer boots up, but then almost immediately goes to the blue screen of death, which says that drtw6a.sys is responsible.

I've tried running Spybot in Safe Mode but it comes up with nothing. I can't boot the computer in normal mode without it crashing.

Hi panteys and welcome to spybot.info :)

You got some infections there...

One or more of the identified infections steals information. If this system is used for online banking or has credit card information on it, all passwords should be changed immediately by using a different computer (not the infected one!) to make the changes. Banking and credit card institutions, if any, should be notified of the possible security breech.

I need you to download the following tool (you can donwload it from another computer and then move it to the infected one):

Download haxfix.exe (http://users.telenet.be/marcvn/tools/haxfix.exe)
and save it to your desktop.

Double click on haxfix.exe to install haxfix. (standard installation path is c:\program Files\haxfix)
Checkmark "Create a desktop icon"
Click "Next"
When the installation is completed, make sure that the checkmark "Launch HaxFix" is placed
Click "Finish"

A red "dos window" (dos box) will open with options:
1. Make logfile
2. Run auto fix
3. Run manual fix
E. Exit Haxfix


Select option 1. Make logfile by typing 1 and then pressing Enter
Haxfix will start scanning the computer. When it is finished a logfile will open: haxlog.txt > (c:\haxfix.txt)
Copy the contents of that logfile and paste it into this thread.

Hi again :)

Ok, we'll continue...

Option 2 autofix
Open this folder program files > haxfix and double click on fix.bat (or double click on fix.bat desktop icon)
Close all other open windows since this step requires a reboot
Select option 2. Run auto fix by typing 2 and then pressing Enter
If an infection is found, you'll get a message to close all other open windows.


Close all open windows except the red dos window from haxfix and then press Enter
The computer will reboot
After reboot a logfile will open > (c:\haxfix.txt)
Post the contents of that logfile along with a new HijackThis log.

So try if you can run the Windows in normal mode and take the fresh HijackThis log from the normal mode too if possible. Then we'll clean the rest of the infections.

You rock, I'll try this when I get home later and post the new HJT log file.

Are there a general set of instructions to get rid of these other infections, assuming I'm successful in removing the haxdoor problem?

And, what do you suggest I do in the future to avoid these problems?

The further instructions depend on that how it looks like after running HaxFix and a new HijackThis log. There will be infections remaining after the HaxFix run so we'll continue when you post the fresh logfiles ;)

Also, I'll give you prevention tips but let's get you cleaned first :)

The HijackThis log you posted was taken in safe mode.

Please run a GMER Rootkit scan:

Download GMER's application from here:
http://www.gmer.net/gmer.zip

Unzip it and start the GMER.exe
Click the Rootkit tab and click the Scan button.

Once done, click the Copy button.
This will copy the results to your clipboard.
Paste the results in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log (take it in the normal mode)

Warning ! Please, do not select the "Show all" checkbox during the scan.
