What is the difference between the different scan priority settings

Theres a few different settings in advanced mode. Can someone please list me the differences of the following options ? Don't be afraid of using computer technical terms, I'm a geek.

There was nothing in the help and tutorial of the program that gave detailed information on this but i want to know more then just a basic idea of what it does. Thanks:)

Please define these options for me

Scan Priority
1. Idle
2. Lowest
3. Lower
4. Normal [suggested]
5. Higher
6. Highest
7. Time critical [Blocks everything else]
 
The scan priorities are similar to the priorities that can be set while in the Process tab of the Windows Task Manager. Changing the priority of a process can make it run faster or slower (depending on whether you raise or lower the priority), but it can also adversely affect the performance of other processes.

Since Spybot is CPU intensive, lowering the priority of Spybot's scan may help you get other work done while the Spybot scan is running.
