running windows xp on desktop pc

Have some "trojan" malware;
no start button/taskbar at screen bottom

Messages I see on screen from start to finish

- virus has been detected; use antimalware software

- isafe.exe has a problem

- host process WIN32 has a problem

- remote procedure call [RPC] cannot execute, automatic computer shutdown will now occur

Installed search&destroy on infected computer; it won't run due to need to search for updates/cannot allocate socket

infected computer cannot go to internet

how do i get around this step and execute search&destroy

Hi there.

Please follow the procedure in this link:
"BEFORE you POST" -Preliminary Steps (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288) to get a HJT log; you will have to download HJT onto another PC that has internet access and burn to CD or put on a floppie.

If you can, run HJT on the infected PC and start your own thread in the malware forum:
Malware Removal Forum (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22)

Copy and Paste the HJT log into that new topic. Let us know how it goes. :)
