Hi, I have a friend I'm helping and they gave me their logfile to analyze. Unfortunately I'm not really clued up on Hijackthis logfiles so please could someone check it, I did see pmkhi.dll which is apparently some trojan/malware, I couldn't find any removal instructions for this particular log as obviously each case is different.

Here's the log:

Welcome to the forum, it is hard to troubleshoot with two antivirus programs conflicting with each other on a system, see this information:
You are running two antivirus programs at the same time and this is not a good thing. They conflict with each other and you will be less safe than if you ran one good program and maintained it properly. Uninstall one, update the one you keep and run a complete system scan, post for me any item that can't be removed, the complete name and pathway.
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2000031316555206
"Microsoft recommends that you have only one anti-virus program installed on your computer."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/03/AR2005120300087.html

Your Java program is out of date which may be why you have the Vundo infection, see this information:
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
C:\Programas\Java\jre1.5.0_06\ <<< out of date

You do have a Vundo infection, the tool we will use may need to run more than once to learn and remove all of the infection. Make sure all files it locates have been deleted.

Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

If there is a file VundoFix doesn't find we need it submitted. Please submit
the files to upload malware http://www.uploadmalware.com

Make sure you restart the computer and post C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log Use "Post Reply" to stay in this same topic.

Thanks

Thanks for returning the information, please copy and paste the logs as instructed here: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

Is this a friend you are helping? Hard for me to get excited about giving my free time when I can't get my first instruction followed! This user will continue to have issues in at least some part by the diminished ability of the antivirus programs to function properly conflicting as they will.

Please follow these directions to clean up the leftovers:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
