a program that has been un-installed & completely removed from computer(except still listed in MSConfig).
I've tried:
1) Un-checking in MSCONFIG. Tea Timer pops-up Denied!
2) In Start-up:Toggling OFF & deleting & even editing to NONE or blank or renaming OLD as value but none sticks. Next time I look, it's back.
3) Tried each of above with TT ON & Off but still get denied based on Black List.
4) Tried with reboots of program only & with re-boots of whole system with TT On & Off.
This is more persistent than most Trojans!!! :banghead:
To add insult to insanity, I have tried all above from Each of the 2 User Desktops
on my XPPro.
Is there anyway short of un-&re-install of S&D??
Thanks in advance for any & all help! Sandy:)

I have a similar problem too, i had SpAxe on my computer a while back, and we were able to remove it. But recently i checked my msconfig and saw it as a checked start up item, but under the location given "C:\Program Files\SpyAxe\spyaxe.exe/h" there is no such path in my computer. I ran Hijack this a while back and got the following.

Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

There was a entry for Spyaxe which i deleted, but after running hijack this again it popped up again. Doing all the above seems to work mometarily in safe mode, but after restarting it pops up again in my msconfig. And u can tell something is up because I have Cable modem, but it runs like dial up. So if n e body has input into my problem i would really appreaciate it, since i have tried almost everything.

P.S.
I didn't mean to change the direction of the forum in n e way, i just thought my problem was related somehow.......Thanks to all who help in advance...

how to remove OLD (removed progs) entries from Config Start-up list.

I think you should create a NEW HJT Log and post in Malware Removal Forum here.Spyaxe is a particularly difficult one to get rid of( several steps including a removal tool if memory serves).
I'm afraid your posting your HJT here may scaring people off from responding to my question.

The one I have is CH Tray.exe left over from removal from Cyberhawk Zero day protections. Even HJT can't get rid of it. Have removed and it comes right back as well. No Program left but S&D still activates (checks box since it's in Config start list where it always rechecks itself.) always. They've probably buried it away in run folder under another name. I used their own "complete removal tool" which left this & did sufficient damage I had to CheckDisk/Repair to get functionality back. Even used JV16 Power tools reg tool which now shows nothing left, but their must be.
Good Luck to us both! Sandy.:)
